12 (I-12) you will get off at exit 10 south.Store Size Bass Pro
Shops is the anchor store to the planned 75-acre development at I-12 and
Range Avenue. The 163,000 square-foot store includes an Islamorada Fish
Company Restaurant. The 11,430 square-foot Islamorada Fish Company
Restaurant will be capable of seating 300 people.

SPRINGS ANTIQUE DISTRICT
The downtown antique
district of Denham Springs has gained a reputation as a "hot"
area for antique buyers, with nearly 30 antique shops, a bank, a
gourmet coffee shop, a restaurant, a florist and various other
retail shops. Some of the shops bill themselves as antique malls
because of the size of the store and large number of dealers
within the store. Even the small shops often have several
dealers displaying their wares, so you always find a wide
variety of merchandise within each business.

FRENCH
SETTLEMENT HISTORICAL SOCIETY MUSEUM
The
Creole
House Museum is an authentic Creole cottage that features
artifacts relating to the French heritage of the area.
Located on LA Hwy 16 in French Settlement behind the
municipal building, the museum displays photographs and other
records that document the history of the town. Also on display
are early furniture, clothing, household items and other. The
museum is open the fourth Sunday of each month from 1 p.m. - 4

LASER
INTERFEROMETER GRAVITATION WAVE OBSERVATORY
Livingston Parish is
one of the sites for the National Science Foundation's Laser
Interferometer Gravitational Wave Observatory (LIGO). This
prestigious research station, in collaboration with Cal-Tech,
MIT and LSU, is at the cutting edge of gravitational physics
research and laser technology. LIGO is dedicated to the
detection of cosmic gravitational waves and the harnessing of
these waves for scientific research. It consist of two
widely-separated installations within the United States, this
one near Livingston, and the other at Hanford, Washington,
operated in unison as a single observatory..Tours of the
facility are available on Fridays at 3 p.m. with no advance
reservation necessary. Saturday morning tours are available by
special appointment. Schools and special groups can book

Tickfaw
State Park--27225 Patterson Road,
Springfield, LA 70462-8906; 225-294-5020 or 1-888-981-2020) is located
32 miles east of Baton Rouge off I-12. From Baton Rouge, take I-12 to
the Albany/Springfield exit. Travel 2 miles south on La. Hwy. 43, merge
with Hwy. 42 and continue one mile to the center of Springfield. Turn
west on La. Hwy. 1037 and travel six miles to Patterson Road (across
from Woodland Baptist Church), then south 1.2 miles to the park
entrance. Tickfaw State Park is a unique 1200-acre park located along
three miles of the Tickfaw River. The park offers diverse recreational,
nature and educational opportunities.
